Welcome to The Journey Project

The Journey Project of the NM Conference of Churches, funded by the Lilly Endowment, is created to offer support to churches in New Mexico by providing them with opportunities to reflect upon their histories, mission and values, consider the role of the church in the Post COVID world, foster spiritual growth and community building, and consider their outward ministries past, present, and future. The study modules include: Journey to Community, Journey to Peace, Journey to Reconciliation, and Journey to Generosity.

This Project includes an opportunity for an eight-week small group study using a curriculum designed by members of the NMCC staff. This resource is available for churches and includes both the discussion guide and a personal study guide. There are quarterly ecumenical gatherings with specials speakers addressing topics of interest for churches, an annual offering of a pilgrimage, and a three-day retreat for clergy serving churches. This project is meant to strengthen the ministries within churches, foster existing ministries that are meaningful to the congregation, provide support to faith leaders, and develop new opportunities for the spiritual journey.
